NBC Sports Philadelphia To Present Live Coverage Of Second Annual Toyota Men’s Big 5 Classic On December 7

NBC Sports Philadelphia will present live coverage of the second annual Toyota Men’s Big 5 Classic college basketball same-day tripleheader at Wells Fargo Center on December 7, beginning at 2 p.m. ET. The second year of the new series format of the Big 5 will determine the champion from six Philadelphia-area men’s teams: Drexel, La Salle, Penn, Saint Joseph’s, Temple and Villanova.

 

All three matchups of the event, including the championship game, will be presented on NBC Sports Philadelphia Plus at 2:00 p.m. ET, 4:30 p.m. ET, and 7:00 p.m. ET (times subject to change), respectively. The championship game will also encore on NBC Sports Philadelphia on Monday, December 9 at 8 p.m. ET.

 

The talent lineup for production will return in full from the inaugural event in 2023 and will feature Matt Martucci for play-by-play, Dr. John Giannini for color and Taryn Hatcher for sideline reporting. NBC Sports Philadelphia will also produce pre- and post-game shows for all three games featuring the network’s Sixers studio steam of Amy Fadool, Jim Lynam and Marc Jackson.

The seeds for the December 7 tripleheader will be determined by the result of the final pod game on November 30 between Temple and La Salle. With a 2-0 record in Pod 2, defending champion Saint Joseph’s will return to the championship game for the second year in a row and will face the winner of the Temple-La Salle match up.
